Dersin Amaç ve İçeriği

Course Objectives: To learn the general structure, molecular and genetic properties of a living organism, to understand the cell and its functions, to learn the metabolic reactions occurring in the cell, to understand the basic principles of heredity, to have knowledge about basic genetic and molecular genetic principles.
Course Content: Biological Science, Birth of Molecular Biology, Biological Molecules, Enzymes, Cellular Organization, Transport and Stimulus Conduction in the Cell Membrane, Cellular Energy and Metabolism, Cell Cycle and Division, Week Growth and Development, Aging Biology, Structure of Genetic Material, Proliferation and Protein Synthesis, Mutation and Repair, Control of Gene Expression, DNA Technology and Applications, Genome Organization, DNA Sequences and Chromosome, Basic Principles of Heredity, Inherited Metabolic Diseases, Cancer Molecular Biology.

1) Must be able to distinguish the classification of living things and explain the types and stages of cell division.
2) It describes the transport of molecules across the cell membrane by comprehending the biological molecules of the cell.
3) Distinguishes the organelles of the cell and counts the organelle characteristics of the cell.
4) Explains cell division by understanding energy metabolism in the cell.
5) It defines the structure of the chromosome, protein synthesis and mutation types.
6) Explains the subject of nutrigenetics and nutrigenomics.

1) Have sufficient knowledge in the field of primary health and the profession of Nutrition and Dietetics, and have the ability to use their theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of Nutrition and Dietetics.
2) Takes at least two out-of-field courses in training programs.
3) Gain the ability to design experiments/field studies on discipline-specific issues, collect data, analyze, interpret and report results.
4) Ability to detect, define, interpret, formulate and solve problems in the field of Nutrition and Dietetics; For this purpose, it selects and applies appropriate analysis and intervention approaches.
5) Understand and interpret a process, event, case, equipment or product, and solve related problems with a holistic perspective and contemporary methods.
6) Ability to develop, select and use up-to-date and functional tools required for field applications, as well as use information technologies effectively.
7) Develops a positive attitude towards lifelong learning and turns it into behavior.
8) Communicates verbally and in writing in Turkish on professional matters at national and international levels by using professional knowledge and skills.
9) Has awareness of the universal and social effects and legal consequences of applications in the field of Nutrition and Dietetics.
