Dersin Amaç ve İçeriği

Course Objectives: It is aimed to provide students with the ability to analyze the texts for specific translation purposes and to develop approaches to analyze and translate text types so that they can translate from Turkish to English.
Course Content: - What is text analysis for specific translation purposes?
- Text functions and types
- Relationship between text type and text analysis for t
- Translation of advertising and propaganda texts
- As examples of vocative texts, Turkish advertisement and propaganda texts will be analyzed, translated into English by students
- Translation of news texts

1) Advanced conceptual, theoretical and applied knowledge in the field of Translation and Interpretation.
2) Examines, researches and interprets the concepts and ideas acquired in the field of Translation and Interpretation using scientific methods individually or in team work.
3) Understands and uses grammatical and semantic structures of source and target languages
4) Gains knowledge of various social, cultural and historical approaches related to source and target language and uses this information in text analysis and text production.
5) Understands and interprets written and spoken texts in the source language and transfers these texts to the target language using a language that matches their meanings and functions.
6) Transfers the theoretical knowledge and research skills to be developed in different areas of expertise to translation.
7) Accesses the necessary resources to increase quality in all stages of the translation process and uses them to control the target text in line with quality targets
