ENGLISH TRANSLATION AND INTERPRETATION PR.
Bachelor TR-NQF-HE: Level 6 QF-EHEA: First Cycle EQF-LLL: Level 6

Specific Admission Requirements

The department’s specifications for acceptance are stated in “the Handbook of Higher Education Programs and Quotas”, under “specifications and explanations” published by the Center for Measuring, Selection and Placement (ÖSYM).

The translator candidates must be high school graduates and first take one of the following higher education entrance tests, given every year by the ÖSYM: the Fundamental Proficiency Test (TYT) and Foreign Language Test (YDT). The candidates then make their official choice based on their (English) language scores, upon which the ÖSYM assigns them to the program based on their score.

Since this is an English-medium department, the students can begin the freshman year only if they pass the English Proficiency exam given by our School of Foreign Languages at the beginning of the academic year.

Students studying at other Translation and Interpreting departments nationwide may be eligible for studying at our department based on their GPA as well as our department’s quota restrictions.

Exchange students may also be accepted within the framework of bilateral agreements signed between partner universities and Istanbul Atlas University such as Erasmus or General Academic Protocol.
