Dersin Amaç ve İçeriği

Course Objectives: To know the diagnosis of dental and gingival diseases, restorative, endodontic and surgical treatments, local and general anesthesia techniques that can be applied during treatment. To understand the toxic effects of dental materials used in pediatric patients, to manage the dental treatment approach of healthy and/or patients who require special care.
To know early childhood caries and factors affecting its development. To comprehend diseases of teeth and gums. To describe the features of restorative and endodontic treatments of primary and permanent teeth, to know the differences between them and to comprehend the effect of treatment. To know the approach to dental treatment of healthy and special care children and to be familiar with the techniques that can be applied in the clinic.
Course Content: Behavior orientation techniques, restorative materials, pulp therapy, drug use in pedodontics.

1) List the factors that cause early childhood caries seen in pediatric patients.
2) Recognizes dental erosion, oral mucosal lesions and periodontal diseases in pediatric patients.
3) Explains what should be considered in restorative, endodontic and surgical treatment of primary, young permanent and permanent teeth in pediatric patients. Defines the agents used in the remineralization process, the toxic effects of the dental materials used and the placeholder application techniques.
