Course Objectives: | This course aims to familiarize students with a variety of critical perspectives in the history of theory and criticism from ancient Greece and Rome to the beginning of the twentieth century. |
Course Content: | We will be discussing selected works from Classical, Renaissance, Neoclassical, Romantic,Victorian, and early 20th. century theorists and writers to be able to answer the following questions: What is literature? What is good literature? What is literature good for? How should we interpret literature? |
