Dersin Amaç ve İçeriği

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is; To introduce the diseases of the patients who have pediatric disorders, to teach how to approach the treatment of these diseases and to help the physiotherapist.
Course Content: Course introduction; Normal development, growth and development concepts in children; Normal motor and neurological development in children; Diseases in children and approach to the child and his family with the disease; Definition of cerebral palsy, types and clinical features, the roles of physiotherapy technicians in the treatment of children with cerebral palsy; Definition of torticollis, its clinical features and the roles of physiotherapy technicians in treating children with torticollis; The mechanisms of brachial plexus injuries, subtypes, clinical features and the roles of physiotherapy technicians in the treatment of children with cerebral palsy; Definition of neural tube defects, subtypes, clinical features and roles of physiotherapy technicians in the treatment of children with cerebral palsy; Definition, types, clinical features of neuromuscular diseases, and the roles of physiotherapy technicians in the treatment of children with cerebral palsy; Introduction of specific syndromes and the roles of physiotherapy technicians in the treatment of children with cerebral palsy; Student case presentations.

1) The student's view of the concept of disease in children is holistic and knows how to approach a child with the disease.
2) She / he is knowledgeable about Cerebral Palsy, and as a physiotherapy technician, she / he is aware of the roles he will play in the practice of these patients. Performs diagnostic treatment methods under the supervision of a physician or physiotherapist when necessary.
3) She / He has knowledge about torticollis, and as a physiotherapy technician, she / he is aware of the roles he will play in the practices of these patients. Performs diagnostic treatment methods under the supervision of a physician or physiotherapist when necessary.
4) Knows about brachial plexus injuries, and as a physiotherapy technician, is aware of the roles to play in these patients. Performs diagnostic treatment methods under the supervision of a physician or physiotherapist when necessary.
5) Knows about neural tube defects, and as a physiotherapy technician, is aware of the roles they will play in the practice of these patients. Performs diagnostic treatment methods under the supervision of a physician or physiotherapist when necessary.
6) She / He has knowledge about neuromuscular diseases and is aware of the roles she / he will play in the practice of these patients as a physiotherapy technician. Performs diagnostic treatment methods under the supervision of a physician or physiotherapist when necessary.
7) She / He is knowledgeable about special genetic syndromes and Autism Spectrum Disorders, and as a physiotherapy technician, she / he is aware of the roles she / he will play in the practice of these patients. Performs diagnostic treatment methods under the supervision of a physician or physiotherapist when necessary.
