At Atlas University Vocational School, assessment and evaluation processes are conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Istanbul Atlas University Associate and Undergraduate Education, Teaching, and Examination Regulations. The assessment and evaluation methods for each course are announced by the instructor at the beginning of the semester and included in the course information packet. In-term assessments may include midterm exams, quizzes, homework assignments, projects, practical/laboratory exercises, and other activities appropriate to the nature of the course. The mid-term exam constitutes 60% of the final grade, and the final exam constitutes 40%. At least three assessment and evaluation activities are administered in each course, including the final exam. Students who score below 40 points on the final or make-up exam are considered unsuccessful; the make-up exam replaces the final exam. Exam dates are announced by the department/program. To participate in the exams, students must be registered for the course, meet the attendance requirements, and fulfill all relevant requirements. Attendance is 70% for theoretical courses and 80% for practical courses. Students who are absent are not eligible to take the final or make-up exams. Students who miss a midterm exam due to an excuse may apply for a make-up exam within five business days of the end of the make-up period. Make-up exams are not administered for final or make-up exams. Objections to final or make-up exam results can be made within five business days of the announcement; these objections are evaluated and finalized by the instructor. A raw grade between 0 and 100 is assigned for each course and is converted to a letter grade according to the letter grade conversion table in the Regulations. Grades of D and D+ are conditional success; if the student's GPA is below 2.00, these courses are considered failed. Students who cheat, plagiarize, or otherwise disrupt exam order during exams will be subject to disciplinary action in accordance with Article 54 of Law No. 2547 and the Regulations.
