Dersin Amaç ve İçeriği

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is; to introduce the diseases of orthopedic and rheumatological patients who come to physiotherapy sessions to the students, to teach how to approach the treatment of these diseases and to help the physiotherapist.
Course Content: Introduction of the course; Fracture types, frequent fractures in the lower and upper extremities and physiotherapy interventions applied to these fractures; Adhesive capsulitis, impingment, rotator cuff and biceps tendinitis and physiotherapy interventions applied to these injuries; Arthroplasty applications and post-surgery physiotherapy interventions; Elbow, knee, foot and hand injuries and physiotherapy interventions applied to these injuries; Introduction and differences of OA and RA diseases, physiotherapy interventions applied to these diseases; Information about AS, SpA, SLE, PsA and Scleroderma; Approach to rheumatological diseases and patients with rheumatological diseases; Clinical case presentations of students.

Theoretical - Conceptual
1) Defines Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid Arthritis diseases, knows their characteristics and differences, as a physiotherapy technician, he is aware of the roles he will play in the applications of patients with these diseases. Performs diagnostic treatment methods under the supervision of a physiatrist or physiotherapist when necessary.
2) Know the definitions and characteristics of rheumatologic diseases such as ankylosing spondylitis, septic arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus and scleroderma.

1) Defines fractures, knows their subtypes and characteristics, as a physiotherapy technician, is aware of the roles to play in the applications of patients with fractures. Performs diagnostic treatment methods under the supervision of a physiatrist or physiotherapist when necessary.
2) Defines shoulder injuries, distinguishes different types of injuries and knows their characteristics, as a physiotherapy technician, is aware of the roles to play in the practice of patients with these injuries. Performs diagnostic treatment methods under the supervision of a physiatrist or physiotherapist when necessary.
3) Defines the problems that can be seen in the back and neck, distinguishes the different types of problems and knows their characteristics, as a physiotherapy technician, is aware of the roles to undertake in the applications of patients with these problems. Performs diagnostic treatment methods under the supervision of a physiatrist or physiotherapist when necessary.
4) Defines arthroplasties, knows their subtypes and features, as a physiotherapy technician, is aware of the roles he will play in the applications of patients who have undergone arthroplasty surgery. Performs diagnostic treatment methods under the supervision of a physiatrist or physiotherapist when necessary.
5) Defines hand, foot, elbow and knee injuries, knows their subtypes and characteristics, as a physiotherapy technician, is aware of the roles to undertake in the practices of patients with these injuries. Performs diagnostic treatment methods under the supervision of a physiatrist or physiotherapist when necessary.
