Dersin Amaç ve İçeriği

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to provide the necessary knowledge, skills and competencies to learn, read, write and use medical terms used in human anatomy and various medical sub-fields.
Course Content: Medical terms used for body systems and medical terms that can be encountered in subfields of medicine

Theoretical - Conceptual
1) Distinguish the differences of medical terms from each other.
2) Knows the differences of medical adjectives such as positive-negative, big-small.
3) Knows musculoskeletal, nervous and cardiovascular systems and medical terms. Uses appropriate written and verbal communication when necessary.
4) Distinguish the terms that have entered medical terminology from different languages.
5) Recognizes Latin suffixes, knows derivation arithmetic of words.

1) Pronounces medical terms correctly and uses them in written language.
2) Knows the terminological differences in medical subfields. Uses appropriate written and verbal communication when necessary.

1) Graduates have basic theoretical knowledge about first and emergency services.
2) Graduates have knowledge of ethical judgement regarding first and emergency services.
3) Graduates use basic theoretical and applied knowledge about first and emergency services.
4) Graduates carry out a task independently by using their basic knowledge of first and emergency services.
5) Graduates know the scene and patient evaluation and precautions to be taken in case of emergency.
6) Graduates know the laws, regulations, legislation and professional ethical rules regarding their duties, rights and responsibilities as a First and Emergency Aid Technician and act in accordance with these rules.
7) Graduates follow the developments in the agenda of the society and the world in the field of health and evaluate them with social responsibility awareness.
8) Graduates determine their learning needs and have the competence to direct their own learning.
9) Graduates can work as a team member to solve unforeseen and complex problems encountered in applications related to the occupation.
10) Graduates can inform the relevant people and institutions by using their basic knowledge and skills in the field of first and emergency aid.
11) Graduates have basic pratical knowledge about first and emergency services.
12) Graduates will have the ability to use materials suitable for the conditions of the sick or injured during patient transport and to position them.
13) Graduates know patient transport techniques and methods in prehospital emergency care.
14) Graduates will have knowledge about the use of drugs and medical interventions related to their profession in emergency care, analyze applications related to basic life support and advanced life support, perform ECG rhythm analysis, and have emergency care skills appropriate to rhythms.
