Course Objectives:

This course is given as an undergraduate course in Computer Science about UNIX/Linux shell programming tools. The course gives an overview of the UNIX operating system and introduces the tools available to users and programmers.

Course Content:

This course is an undergraduate course in Computer Science on the UNIX/Linux operating system. While the course provides a broad view of the operating system, the main focus of the course is Bash programming and system administration. Students will learn practically how to program and use commands and scripts in the operating system and will be familiar with the UNIX environment. The course requires knowledge of modern operating systems and practical skills in programming fundamentals as prerequisites. Students will be asked for a scripting project to develop appropriate technical coding skills as part of the term project.
