Course Objectives: | To emphasize the importance of breastfeeding in society and raise awareness, to have knowledge and skills and to provide counseling on the importance of breast milk, preparing the mother for breastfeeding, milk supply and storage conditions, breast problems and coping skills. |
Course Content: | The importance of breastfeeding and its benefits for mother and baby health Anatomy of the breast and physiology of lactation Taking a breastfeeding history, preparing the mother for breastfeeding, breastfeeding techniques, evaluating breastfeeding Sustainability of breastfeeding, obstacles to breastfeeding and solutions Breastfeeding counseling, listening and learning, breastfeeding self-efficacy, case studies Counseling on breast problems and coping, breastfeeding and counseling in special situations Working life and breastfeeding, expressing and storing breast milk Breastfeeding and traditional practices, practices that increase maternal friction Wet nursing and milk banking Breastfeeding policies and legal regulations, current situation in Turkey and the world |
