Course Objectives: | After completing this course, the student will be able to: 1. Present data in tabular and graph formats. 2. Calculate basic statistics: mean, median, mode, variance, standard deviation, correlation coefficients, chi-square, t-test, F-test. 3. Read and understand journal articles in social sciences, including statistical analysis of data. 4. Decide which statistical test is appropriate for a particular experiment. 5. Understand probability, and use it to decide whether results are likely to be due to sampling error or to the independent variable. 6. Use SPSS for Windows. |
