Dersin Amaç ve İçeriği

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is; To provide knowledge and skills on the integration of cultural competence into nursing education and practice in line with intercultural nursing models.
Course Content: This course includes human and culture, health, disease concepts, and cultural factors affecting health and disease, religion, migration and nutrition's relationship with culture and health, and definition, purpose, importance and historical development of transcultural nursing, transcultural communication, transcultural nursing models, in chronic diseases, pain and death, child care, transcultural approaches to psychiatric illnesses and reproductive health, cultural competence and safety in care, and standards of practice for cultural competence in nursing care.
