Dersin Amaç ve İçeriği

Course Objectives:

To teach the features of the units where blood and blood products are prepared and/or transfused, to teach the preparation and storage of blood components and the importance of transfusion, to understand the tests performed for blood transfusion and the reactions that may occur in this process and the quality control rules.

Course Content:

National Legislation on Blood and Blood Products, Blood Service Units, Blood Donation Center Definition and Activities, Transfusion Center Definition and Activities, Blood Service Units Equipment, Devices, Tools and Equipment,Staff, Quality System for Blood Service Units, Blood Donor Selection and Follow-up, Donor Acquisition and Coordination Programs, Blood Components,erythrocyte suspension, platelet suspension-plasma, Immunohematological Tests, Detection of blood groups, Microbiological Screening Tests, Rh system and other subgroups, Application of serological Cross-match, Coombs tests, Infectious screening tests, Quality control in blood banks, Bio-safety in blood banks

5) Takes the samples that the specialist physician deems necessary from the patient in an appropriate way, and performs the sample transfer under appropriate conditions.
6) Performs routine examinations in the medical laboratory, follows the sample, concludes the analysis and establishes the relationship with the diseases.
7) Accurately obtains the findings, organizes them, presents them for sharing and use in accordance with the purpose.
8) Takes safety precautions in the medical laboratory, applies personal safety rules and creates a safe laboratory environment.
9) In the working environment; applies first aid and emergency care in accordance with the guide/directive in emergency situations.
10) Takes responsibility in a given task and carries it out individually and takes responsibility in working groups when necessary.
11) Gains proficiency in recognizing devices related to the field and fixing simple problems.
12) It carries out the necessary activities for the professional development of the employees under its responsibility.
13) Participates in the necessary programs, vocational in-service training activities and other studies in order to improve herself personally and professionally by updating the knowledge, skills and competencies related to her field with the awareness of lifelong learning.
