Course Objectives: |
To have general information about biomolecules, cell structure and function, energy metabolism, quality of genetic material, DNA packaging and structure of chromosome, RNA structure synthesis and function, genetic code and protein synthesis, Mendelian genetics, cell cycle, mutation, gene engineering. |
Course Content: |
Structure of the Cell, Cell Membrane and Organelles, Cell Cycle, Mitosis and Meiosis, Cell Signal Transmission Mechanisms, Cell senescence,Cell senescence and apoptosis,DNA, RNA, Gene, Chromatin, Chromosome, Replication, Transcription and Translation Mechanisms, Gene Expression and Epigenetic Mechanisms, Mutation, Polymorphism Concepts and DNA Repair Mechanisms,Cancer and its Mechanism, Mendelian Genetics, Stem cell biology and treatments, Molecular genetic diseases and diagnostic methods. Human genome project are the content of the course. |
