Dersin Amaç ve İçeriği

Course Objectives: In this course, information about the structure of the women's reproductive system, its functions and deviations from health, protection from diseases affecting reproductive/sexual health, maintaining and improving well-being, functions related to sexual health (SR) and reproductive health (RH) and care for special situations and diseases affecting it. It is aimed to gain .
Course Content: 1. Understands the importance of SRH in women's health in the world and in Turkey.
2. Defines the concepts related to gynecological problems in women's health.
3. Explains the principles of care aimed at protecting and improving women's health.
4. Discuss women's health problems and midwifery approaches according to life periods.
5. Discusses the importance of evidence-based care in gynecological cases in line with the care process (data collection, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation).
6. Explains care approaches to women's gynecological and gynecological-oncological health problems.
7. Understands the mechanism of physiological and psychosocial changes in women's menopause and advanced age and midwifery approaches.
8. Explains diagnosis and treatment methods in gynecology.
9. Discuss women's cancers and cancer care.
10. Plans and delivers training on women's health protection and promotion.

3) Have the ability to understand, interpret, and solve problems related to pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care of women and newborns with a holistic perspective and contemporary methods.
4) To have strong communication and effective working skills both within and between disciplines individually.
5) Takes at least two out-of-field courses in the education program.
6) Have the ability to develop, select, and use up-to-date and functional tools related to the midwifery profession, as well as the ability to use information technologies effectively.
7) Have the ability to communicate verbally and in writing in Turkish and knows at least one foreign language.
8) Takes part in scientific and social projects in individual and professional development, follows developments in science and technology, and adopts lifelong learning and continuous development as a principle.
