Dersin Amaç ve İçeriği

Course Objectives: To enable students to have a good grasp of the concepts of health and health services, to gain basic knowledge about the management of health services and to evaluate the management of health services in Turkey.
Course Content: This course includes the following topics; Concept of Health and Health Services, Models Related to Definition of Health, Determinants of Health Status, Features of Health Services, Classification, Concept of Service and Characteristics of Health Services, Determination of Need, Demand, Supply and Priority in Health Services, Health System, Health System Elements and Functions, Turkish Healthcare Services System, Organization of Health Services, Health Transformation Program, Unions of Public Hospitals and Conversion of Hospitals into Unions and Organizational Structure, Decentralization and Decentralization in Our Country, General Directorate of Public Health, General Directorate of Public Hospitals, Basic Concepts in Health Services Management, Concepts Related to Clinical Studies Health Institutions Management Other Important Concepts in Terms of Health Institutions as an Organization, Health Services Financing, Health and its Changing Environment: Reflections of the Developments in the Health Sector to the Management of Health Institutions, Changing Health System and Reasons for Change, A Health Institution. n Possible Stakeholders, Concept of Performance in Health Services, Benefits of Performance Evaluation in Health Services, Performance Management Process in Health Institutions, PATH Project and Turkey, Coordination in Health Institutions, Decision Making Process and Problem Solving in Health Institutions, Current Issues in Health Services in Turkey-1: Telemedicine , Digitalization in Health, Digital Hospitals, Current Issues in Health Services in Turkey-2: Data Mining, Health Literacy Health Services and Health Tourism, Current Issues in Health Services in Turkey-3: City Hospitals.

Program Outcomes
1) Explain the basic structure, development and normal functioning of the human body at the level of molecules, cells, tissues, organs and systems.
2) Questions the abnormal structure and functioning of the human body, explains it with information based on qualified scientific research, evaluates the causes of diseases by considering the interaction with the individual and his environment.
3) Evaluates clinical decision making and management processes of diseases under the guidance of evidence-based medicine practices.
4) Defines the concepts of health and disease in individual and social contexts, explains health seeking and health protection behaviors, national health service delivery and administrative processes.
5) Knows the research processes that form the basis of medical knowledge, has a level of foreign language knowledge to follow the developments in this field.
6) Takes medical history from the applicant/patient and their relatives.
7) Performs physical examination of individuals, evaluates diagnostic tests, manages diagnosis and treatment processes by using appropriate process steps.
8) Applies medical interventions to individuals for diagnosis, treatment or prevention.
9) Plans and realizes practices for the protection and improvement of health in individual and social dimensions.
10) Plans a scientific research, implements and evaluates the results.
11) Demonstrates lifelong learning behavior by making use of scientific and technological developments for professional and social changes.
12) Fulfills its responsibilities as a physician within the framework of professional values, ethical principles and legal regulations, regardless of language, religion, race, gender, social and cultural discrimination in the individual and society it serves.
13) He / she works in teams with his colleagues and other healthcare professionals in the processes of protecting and improving health in individual and social dimensions, and managing diseases.
14) Organizes and keeps records of health and disease related data obtained from individuals and society in medical and administrative contexts.
15) It strives to protect and develop the health of the individual and the society and to provide health services for the benefit of the individuals who make up the society.
