Course Objectives: | To have knowledge about stem cell biology and plasticity. To learn main cell purification techniques, basic information and mechanisms. |
Course Content: | Definitions of stem cells, proliferation of differentiated cells, hematopoietic stem cells, differentiated cell types, purification techniques and their use in medicine. Mesenchymal stem cells, differentiated cell types, purification techniques and their use in medicine. Stem cell biology and plasticity. Basic stem cell techniques [Immunomagnetic ( Magnetic), Immunodensity (Density-based) Methods, Positive selection, Negative selection] and aseptic conditions. Flow cytometry method and evaluation principles. Stem cell usage areas. |
