Course Objectives: | This course aims to teach the mechanisms of action of drugs used in the treatment of bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites, which are infectious agents, and the mechanisms of resistance to these drugs, as well as the methods used in susceptibility testing of infectious agents. |
Course Content: | Antimicrobial chemotherapy and general definitions, Mechanisms of action of antibiotics, Mechanisms of resistance to antibiotics, Antibiotic susceptibility tests, Factors affecting antimicrobial therapy, Adverse effects of antimicrobials, Environment and resistance, Treatment and resistance in viral infections, Mechanisms of action of antifungals, Mechanisms of resistance to antifungals, Mechanism of action of antiparasitics, Antiparasitic mechanisms are the content of this course. |
