Course Objectives:

It aims to provide detailed information about all stages of sterilization and disinfection, manual and ultrasonic washing processes, acceptance of dirty samples, separation of surgical instruments, packaging processes and sterilization process.

Course Content:

In this lesson given as the Principles of Sterilization and Disinfection I in the first period, the basis of sterilization processes is given. The content of the second semester course, which is given as Principles of Sterilization and Disinfection II, includes the steps of the decontamination sterilization process, dirty instrument acceptance, washing, characteristics of washing machines and quality controls, placement of surgical instruments, packaging, sterilization.
