Dersin Amaç ve İçeriği

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to provide an understanding of the biochemical foundations of cancer and focus on the role of cancer development, progression, and response to treatment. Students will be taught the roles of oncogenes, tumor suppressor genes, cellular pathways, and molecular mechanisms in cancer development, leading to a comprehensive understanding of cancer biology. Additionally, biochemical perspectives on cancer diagnosis and treatment methods will also be discussed.
Course Content: This course aims to explore the biochemical foundations of cancer and the role of oncogenes. It will cover fundamental biochemical processes such as metabolic changes in cancer cells, the cell cycle, apoptosis, and genetic and epigenetic alterations. The role of oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes in cancer development, molecular pathways of cancer, and mechanisms of metastasis will be examined in detail. The course will also emphasize the significance of biochemical targets in cancer treatment, immunotherapies, and targeted therapies.

1) The learning outcomes of this course include understanding the basic principles of cancer biochemistry and oncogenes, grasping the molecular foundations of cancer, and relating this knowledge to clinical applications. Students will gain the ability to analyze the biochemical processes, genetic and epigenetic changes in cancer, and identify critical factors in cancer development and treatment. Additionally, they will enhance their analytical thinking skills by applying the knowledge in research projects and group discussions.

1) In this course, students will gain an in-depth understanding of the role of cancer biochemistry and oncogenes in cancer development. The course will also help students develop scientific thinking and critical analysis skills by investigating the biological and molecular dynamics of cancer.
