Dersin Amaç ve İçeriği

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to enable students to comprehend and calculate subjects such as limit, derivative, and integral in functions of one variable.
Course Content: Functions. Limits and continuity. Derivatives. Differentiation rules. Applications of derivatives; extreme values, sketching graphs of functions. Definite integrals, fundamental theorem of calculus. Integration methods, areas of regions in the plane.

1) Functions and Their Graphs (domain and range, graph of a function, even functions and odd functions, symmetry, common functions), Combining Functions to Make New Functions (sums, differences, product and quotients, composite functions, shifting a graph of a function, scaling and reflecting), The Trigonometric Functions. Textbook Chapter 1
2) Limit of A Function and Limit Laws (Limits of Function Values, The Limit Laws, the sandwich theorem), The Precise Definition of A Limit, One-Sided Limits, Limits Involving Infinity (finite limits involving infinity, infinite limits). Textbook Chapter 2
3) Continuity (continuity at a point, continuous functions, intermediate value theorem, asymptotes of graphs), Tangent Lines (Derivative At A Point), Derivatives (differentiable on an interval, one-sided derivatives). Textbook Chapter 2, Chapter 3
