Course Objectives:

The aim of this course is for students to; To be able to recognize internal and external factors affecting people and people, human behaviors, normal patterns of behavior and deviations from normal, to protect, maintain and develop mental health, to improve and rehabilitate mental disorders, to recognize mental disorders that can be seen in women during pregnancy and postpartum period, and to make necessary guidance, To plan the necessary interventions for a mentally healthy pregnancy and puerperium, and to ensure the development of a positive mother-infant relationship.

Course Content:

This course; Concept of mental health and factors affecting mental health, Developmental stages and characteristics of personality, Communication, communication techniques, Basic concepts in mental health; Stress, anxiety, crisis, loss, Neurotic disorders, Mood disorders, Schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders, Mental problems of children and adolescents, Personality disorders and substance use disorders, Eating and sleep disorders, Sexual health and sexual dysfunctions, Mental changes during pregnancy Mental problems that can be experienced during puerperium, Community mental health; includes topics.
