Dersin Amaç ve İçeriği

Course Objectives: To learn the general structure, molecular and genetic characteristics of a living organism, to understand the cell and its functions, to learn the metabolic reactions that occur in the cell, to understand the basic principles of heredity, to have knowledge about basic genetic and molecular genetic principles.
Course Content: Biology Science, Birth of Molecular Biology, Biological Molecules, Enzymes, Cellular Organization, Transport and Stimulus Transmission in Cell Membrane, Cellular Energy and Metabolism, Cell Cycle and Division, Week Growth and Development, Aging Biology, Structure of Genetic Material, Proliferation and Protein Synthesis, Mutation and Repair, Control of Gene Expression, DNA Technology and Applications, Genome Organization, DNA Sequences and Chromosome, Basic Principles of Inheritance, Hereditary Metabolic Diseases, Molecular Biology of Cancer.

1) Based on undergraduate-level competencies, possesses up-to-date knowledge at a specialist level in the field of health, and is open to developing this knowledge.
2) Has the knowledge to evaluate the source, accuracy, reliability and validity of the information obtained in the field of dentistry.
3) Using the advanced theoretical and practical knowledge they have acquired in the field of dentistry, they analyse the experienced case , critically evaluate it, identify potential problems and develop solutions when necessary.
4) Possesses the ability to utilise, develop and deepen the theoretical and practical knowledge acquired at an expert level in their field.
5) In professional practice, they identify problems and solve them by using computers and other technological tools required in the healthcare field, as well as field-specific devices and instruments, at an advanced level.
6) When conducting research in their respective fields, they determine the appropriate methodological approach, analyse the data they obtain, interpret the results, and contribute to science by reporting these findings.
7) Conducts work related to the field of health independently and/or as part of a team using the advanced knowledge.
