Course Objectives: | To teach the areas of use of heat and light used in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, its effects on the human body, the use of heat and light in the mechanism of inflammation and pain. |
Course Content: | Physical properties of heat, heat dissipation mechanism, physiological effect of heat on tissues, indications and contraindications of heat, moist and dry heat agents, effects of superficial and deep heat, physiological effect mechanism of cold, indications and contraindications, cold agents, inflammation and pain formation mechanism, door control theory, effects of heat and light on inflammation and pain, physiological effects of light, electromagnetic spectrum, infrared, ultraviolet and laser mechanism indications and contraindications. |
