Course Objectives:

The aim of this course for each student;
The definition of the profession of speech and language therapy, teaching the duties, authorities and responsibilities of the language-speech therapist within the framework of ethical principles, teaching basic information about the practice areas and working subjects of the profession.

Course Content:

The development and history of the speech and language therapy profession in the world and in Turkey; job description of speech and language therapist; Contact; language and speech processes; clinical and educational classification of communication-language and speech disorders; communication- causes, types and characteristics of language and speech disorders; language and speech disorders; language disorders; phonology-speech disorders; stuttering; deaf people; voice disorders; neurogenic communication disorders; Collaboration with different disciplines: teamwork, the role of other experts, task boundaries, swallowing disorders, developmental language.
