Dersin Amaç ve İçeriği

Course Objectives: This course aims to enable interior architecture students to learn basic scientific and technical concepts in the field of building acoustics.
Course Content: Acoustic Theory:
In this section, acoustic theory will be discussed on the basis of sound physics. Throughout the semester, important terms related to building acoustics will be focused on and the application areas of these terms will be examined.

Legal Basis:
The standards, regulations and rights used in sound insulation, noise control and acoustic correction in the field of building acoustics will be discussed in detail. Course content will be shaped within the framework of these rules and supported by application examples.

Building Acoustics Materials:
By focusing on the properties and introduction of the materials used in building acoustics, the effects of these materials on acoustic performance will be examined.

Sound Insulation and Noise Control:
Various solutions will be discussed regarding airborne sound insulation, impact sound insulation and control of noise originating from mechanical equipment. In this context, effective surface materials will be evaluated and practical information will be provided to students through application examples.

Volume Acoustics:
The design principles and calculation methods required to create acoustic projects of indoor spaces with different functions will be explained in detail. Students will gain knowledge about strategies to prevent acoustic defects encountered in practice.
