Course Objectives: | The aim of this course is to introduce orthoses, prostheses and assistive devices used in physiotherapy clinics due to various diseases and disabilities, to explain their intended use and to teach students how to use these devices. |
Course Content: | Introduction of the course; Basic orthosis knowledge, introduction of intended use; Introduction of commonly used cervical orthoses and trunk-scoliosis orthoses; Shoulder, hand and wrist splints, AFO, KAFO and HKAFOs; Basic prosthesis knowledge, introduction of intended use; Introduction to basic prosthesis types; Information and examples about bionic prostheses; Introduction and application of wheelchair and walking aids used in physiotherapy; Parallel bar training; Robotic systems supported in physiotherapy; Contribution of virtual reality applications to physiotherapy applications. |
