Course Objectives: | The aim of this course is to inform about hydrotherapy and balneotherapy methods applied in the different areas of physiotherapy, to enable the distinction of indication and contraindication in their use as a treatment and to teach the application of these methods. |
Course Content: | The history of hydrotherapy and balneotherapy in the world, usage areas in our country, usage areas as treatment; Viewing the physical properties of water and heat and their therapeutic effects, usage areas of hydrotherapy; Systemic effects of hydrotherapy and hydrotherapy in edema treatment; Whirlpool baths; Sitting and butterfly baths; Opposite baths; Uses and fields of balneotherapy; Showers, baths, gas baths, peloids as external application in balneotherapy; Inhalation, drinking, mineral water as internal application in balneotherapy; Knowledge of sulphate, iron, sulfur, radon, bicarbonate waters and natural mineral spring waters, halotherapy and fluidotherapy as thermomineral applications; Spa, thalassotherapy and climatherapy knowledge; Aquatherapy applications; Spa treatment. |
