Course Objectives: | The aim of this course is to introduce the operating room environment, conditions, employees, tools and equipment, and to give information about what operations are performed here. To indicate the order of steps to be followed before, during and after the operation and to inform the students about the issues that need attention. |
Course Content: | History of Surgery and Conditions Requiring Surgical Treatment, Operation and Order of the Operating Room Duties and Responsibilities of Employees, Ideal Operating Room Environment, Basic equipment Basic surgical sets and instruments, Preoperative Room, Set, Material and Equipment Preparation, Effects of Surgery on the Patient, Surgical Wounds and Healing Process, Pre-Surgical Preparation of the Surgical Patient, Surgical Site Infections Causes and Precautions, Surgical Asepsis, Surgical Washing, Dressing and Assisting Dressing, Creating and Maintaining a Sterile Area, Surgery Positions.Topics such as preoperative skin preparation, Anesthesia Methods, Hemostasis, Needle, suture and other wound closure tools, drains, Pathology Material Preparation and Delivery, Operational Material Counts, Cautery and pneumatic tourniquet usage, Patient Delivery and Operating Room Cleaning-Disinfection are included in the content of this course. takes. |
