Course Objectives:

Objective of the course is to help students comprehend the meaning and importance of National Struggle organized and executed by the founder of the Republic of Turkey, Ataturk in order to reach the modern civilizations.

Course Content:

Contents of the course include; Basic Concepts, Ottoman Empire and Its Decline, Tanzimat and Constitutional Periods, Ideological Movements in the Final Period of Ottoman State, Tripoli War, Balkan Wars, First World War, Mundros Armistice and Occupations, Birth of National Struggle and National Organizations, Mustafa Kemal Pasha's Samsun Amasya Circular, National Congresses, Announcement of the National Assembly, Opening of the Grand National Assembly, Liberation War, Mudanya Armistice, Lausanne Peace Treaty.

Theoretical - Conceptual
1) Gains the definition of Revolution and the knowledge of understanding the reasons that prepared the Turkish revolution
2) Gains the ability to understand the efforts to save the Ottoman empire
3) Gains the ability to look holistic at Trablusgarp,1st and 2nd Balkan Wars
4) Gains a sense of thinking about the 1st World War and the collapse of the Ottoman State
5) Gains the ability to understand and think about the Mondros Armistice and the occupation of İzmir
6) Gains the ability to understand and to look holistic at the power created by Mustafa Kemal Pasha's departure to Samsun and beginning of the national struggle
7) Gains the awareness of the opening of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and establishment of the new Turkish state and gets the delight of the sense of those.
8) Gains the ability to reach and understand the fronts of the National Struggle and the wars with the Armenians and the French on the East and South fronts

1) Have theoretical, design and technical knowledge to fulfill the requirements of the profession in the field of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design in the field of design, and can use the acquired knowledge in academic and applied fields with theoretical-factual, cognitive-applied dimensions.
2) Within the scope of the duties and responsibilities that the profession can undertake, it determines the needs related to national and international sensitivity in environmental, economic and social fields and can bring solutions to problems.
3) She/He can create creative and contemporary designs with an aesthetic approach that considers human-environment interaction in the built environments it creates within the scope of user needs, and presents its designs visually, verbally and in writing through different communication channels.
4) She/He can follow the stages of the designs he has developed based on theory and design knowledge, make analyzes about production during the design process, and use his theoretical knowledge for management and construction in the field of application.
5) Can access current discussions and developments in the field of design by using different technological tools, and can apply innovative and creative ideas obtained from various information sources in the field of current trends and new technologies.
6) Can interpret, analyze and apply the knowledge, thoughts and approaches acquired by evaluating national and international standards and regulations within the scope of user needs.
