The Prof. Dr. Ahmet Gül Skills Laboratory, located within Atlas University, provides a 270 m² comprehensive practical training area equipped with individual student workstations, technical devices, and educational materials that support the development of hands-on competencies for Dialysis Program students. The laboratory hosts industry-supported training sessions, where visual and practical demonstrations are conducted on hemodialysis and hemofiltration machines, enabling students to strengthen their skills in device recognition, circuit setup, machine adjustments, safety checks and overall clinical workflow proficiency. Within this environment, students gain realistic clinical experience through structured scenarios that emphasize sterilization procedures, equipment preparation, fluid–electrolyte balance management, and dialysis-related applications, allowing them to develop professional reflexes safely through simulation-based learning. Students also have the opportunity to observe acute and chronic dialysis procedures in the Atlas University Faculty of Medicine Hospital Intensive Care Units, where they directly experience critical clinical processes such as patient preparation, vascular access management, ultrafiltration monitoring, complication recognition, and effective communication within the multidisciplinary healthcare team. In addition, students complete internships at affiliated dialysis centers, gaining exposure to real patient flow, treatment protocols, and collaborative clinical practice. This field-based learning model significantly enhances students’ professional competencies and facilitates a smoother transition into the workforce after graduation.
