Course Objectives: | It aims to teach the use of research evidence in various fields of occupational therapy. The course seeks to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to integrate their clinical experience with scientific evidence, implement client-centered decision-making processes based on evidence-based approaches, and evaluate available resources to make informed healthcare decisions. |
Course Content: | This course covers topics including evidence-based medicine and evidence-based practices, fundamental principles of the evidence-based approach, key steps of evidence-based practice, evidence-based occupational therapy and clinical decision-making, grading of evidence and levels of evidence, science, scientific literacy, and criteria for scientific validity, steps of scientific research, referencing in evidence-based research, sample selection in evidence-based studies, and research and statistical methods in health sciences. |
