Course Objectives: Course Description:
Gaining competence by using the knowledge and skills acquired within the scope of the Women's Health Nursing course coded 1215311009 in the laboratory and/or real practice environment.
Course Content: In this course, in the light of the information learned within the scope of women's health nursing course; Competence is gained by applying skills to meet the physiological, psychosocial, cultural and developmental care needs of healthy and unhealthy women and newborns according to their life stages in a laboratory / real practice environment.

2) Anatomy of the Reproductive System and Preparation for Clinical Examination Demonstration and definition on the model, and application is made through role play. The student brings the "KSH 1011- PREPARATION FOR GYNECOLOGICAL EXAMINATION" skill list with him when he comes to class during laboratory time. Prepares and participates in the application by checking the application through this checklist.
3) Physical Evaluation and Prenatal Care during Pregnancy: - Prenatal data collection - Practice Leopold maneuvers - NST application skills - watching videos The student brings the "KSH-1011-2: APPLICATION OF LEOPOLD MANEUVERS" and "KSH-1011-3: PRE-NATAL CARE MANAGEMENT" skill checklist with him when he comes to class during laboratory time. Performs applications through the steps in the skill checklists.
4) Hospital Admission and Prenatal Care: - Prenatal counseling and education - Prenatal care management The student brings the skill lists "KSH 1011-4: EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION SKILLS", "KSH 1011-5: PREnatal EXERCISE TEACHING" and "KSH 1011-6: PROVIDING EDUCATION" when coming to class during laboratory time. During prenatal counseling and educational role play practice, it provides training and counseling through the steps in these skill lists.
5) Risky Situations During Pregnancy: Risky Pregnant Case Study Role plays are performed with each group on different topics, based on sample cases from high-risk pregnancies. During role play, the student uses the steps in the skill lists "KSK 1011-3: PRE-NATAL CARE MANAGEMENT" and "KSH 1011-4: COMMUNICATION WITH THE PREGNANT AND FAMILY".
6) Monitoring in Labor: - Data collection regarding the labor process - Nursing monitoring during labor - Contraction monitoring - Partograph monitoring - Emergency Obstetric Care The student brings "KSH 1011-7: NURSING MONITORING DURING BIRTH", "KSH 1011-8: CONTRACTION MONITORING" and "PARTOGRAPH" skill lists with him when he comes to class. Role play and sample cases are used. Follow-up skills are developed through role play. Labor is monitored using a partograph.
7) Care and Follow-up of the Newborn in the Postpartum Period: First care of the newborn in the delivery room o Body temperature preservation o Ensuring airway patency o Initiating communication o Height measurer o Weight control, o Eye Care o Umbilical Cord care The first care of the newborn in the delivery room is shown on the baby model. The student first watches the application through the model and then explains and applies it himself.

9) Postpartum Care/Initiation of Breastfeeding: - Skin-to-skin contact and initiation of breastfeeding during cesarean and vaginal birth - Teaching breastfeeding - Burping the baby When the student comes to class, the skill lists "KSH 1011-9: EARLY SKIN CONTACT AND INITIATION OF FIRST BREASTFEEDING DURING CESARIAN BIRTH", "KSH 1011-10: EARLY SKIN CONTACT AND INITIATION OF FIRST BREASTFEEDING DURING VAGINAL BIRTH" and "KSH 1011-13: TEACHING BREASTFEEDING" are ready. It contains. These skills are applied and evaluated through role play and case examples.
10) Postpartum Care/Postpartum Follow-up of the Woman: - Postpartum care management - Uterine involution monitoring The student comes to class with the skill checklist "KSH 1011-11: UTERUS INVOLUTION" and "KSH 1011-12: POSTPARTUM CARE MANAGEMENT". Role play is done with sample cases and skill lists are checked.
11) Contraceptive Counseling: Counseling Session • Condom Consultancy • IUD Consultancy • Hormonal Contraceptive Counseling The skill list "KSH 1011-14: PROVIDING FAMILY PLANNING EDUCATION" is used as student training material. Family planning training is given through case studies and role play.
12) Gynecological Patient Preparation: • Collecting data from gynecological patients • Perineal care • Gynecological preoperative preparation and postoperative care As course material "WOMEN'S HEALTH AND DISEASES NURSING" DATA COLLECTION FORM" and "KSH 1011-16: PERINEAL CARE" skill form are used.
13) Gynecological cancers - Risk determination for gynecological cancers In this course, the student practices gynecological cancer risk determination using the "RISK DETERMINATION FORM FOR GYNECOLOGICAL CANCERS".
14) Gynecological Patient Preparation: - Teaching vulvar self-examination - Teaching breast self-examination As part of course preparation, the student brings the skill lists "KSH 1011-17: TEACHING YOURSELF VULVA EXAMINATION" and "KSH 1011-18: TEACHING YOURSELF SELF EXAMINATION". Plans student training and counseling based on a case study and implements it through role play.
15) Gynecological care -Menopause counseling During this course, material is developed to provide education and counseling to women in the climacteric period about the menopause process. With the role play method, the practice of providing education and counseling to menopausal individuals is enacted.
