Course Objectives:

In accordance with the basic concepts and theories related to surgical nursing, it is to gain knowledge, skills and behavior in diagnosis and nursing diagnosis for determining the care needs of the surgical patient and his family with a holistic approach before, during and after surgical intervention, planning, implementing appropriate nursing initiatives and evaluating their results. To gain knowledge, skills and behavior in communicating effectively with the patient and his/her family as well as with other health professionals.

Course Content:

This course includes advanced knowledge and applications about nursing care before, during and after surgery, wound healing process and current approaches in treatment/care, acute pain management after surgery, surgical infections and precautions, treatment/care principles and surgical patient nutrition in surgical patients.
