Course Objectives:

Students who successfully complete this course will;1. Describes health promotion and the prevention of acute and chronic diseases.2. Knows basic nursing concepts and theories on health promotion and disease management.3. Comprehends the diagnosis, treatment, care and rehabilitation of acute and chronic diseases.4. Plan the evidence-base nursing care fitting on the needs, values, socio-cultural characteristics of patient in the light of nursing process.5. Develop an education plan for individuals, their families or community on prevention, early diagnosis and effective management of diseases.

Course Content:

Basic concepts and principles related to internal medicine nursing, primary health problems in the community, nursing care for adult and elderly individuals with acute and chronic health problems to prevention, promotion and maintenance of health, rehabilitation, palliative care.
