Dersin Amaç ve İçeriği

Course Objectives: To provide students with general and fundamental knowledge about the rules of the Turkish language, its spelling and expression features; to introduce written sources of Turkish and enable them to acquire the ability to use these sources.
Course Content: In the Turkish Language course, students are informed about the relationship between language and communication and the effects of language on culture. Information is provided on Turkish grammar, expression disorders, spelling, and punctuation. Students gain a general language culture. Historical phases of written Turkish, Turkish alphabets, and the phonetic and morphological features of the Turkish language are introduced. Basic training is given in correct language use, recognizing Turkish and Turkish literature. While imparting basic reading and writing skills, information on text types is provided and sample texts are examined.

1) What is language? Language and culture. Writing petitions. Spelling (Orthography) and punctuation.
2) The source and origin of language. Classification of world languages. Languages around the world and the position of Turkish among them. Structural classification of world languages. Spelling and punctuation.
3) Turkish among world languages. Historical periods of the Turkish language. Spelling and punctuation.
4) Historical stages of the Turkish written language. Language varieties (dialect, accent, vernacular). Turkish alphabets. Turkish vocabulary. Spelling and punctuation.
5) Phonetics: Turkish sounds and their classification. Sound events: sound addition, vowel and consonant loss, vowel reduction. Turkish phonetic features. Stress. Word stress. Spelling and punctuation.
6) Turkish syllable structure. Words by structure. Noun and verb roots. Turkish suffixes. Derivational and inflectional affixes. Spelling and punctuation.
7) Words in terms of meaning and function. Sentence and its elements: Predicate, subject, object, indirect object, adverbial complement. Spelling and punctuation.
8) Midterm Exam
9) Forming a paragraph and ways to develop ideas. Expression disorders.
10) Reading comprehension and written expression. Types of written expression: Literary texts and informative texts.
11) Expression disorders: Structural expression disorders. Written expression.
12) Types of written expression: Literary texts - Non-fiction and communicative texts. Informative texts. Official correspondence.
13) Oral expression. Types of oral expression: Prepared and impromptu speeches. Speech disorders and diction.
14) Academic writing and the characteristics of academic writing.

14) Graduates are aware of the duties and responsibilities of the anesthesia technician, have sufficient knowledge and skills, keep patient caregivers and people at the forefront, can perform active teamwork together with effective communication, and aim to constantly learn and improve the consumed information.
