Dersin Amaç ve İçeriği

Course Objectives: Identity Development course aims to examine the processes of identity formation and development of individuals theoretically and practically. This course helps students to understand the basic theories of identity development, cultural and social influences, identity crises, and lifespan processes of identity development.
Course Content: Basic concepts and theories of identity development
Erikson's theory of psychosocial development and identity development
Identity statuses and identity crises
The impact of cultural, social and familial factors on identity development
Gender, ethnic identity and professional identity development
Lifelong processes in identity development
Current research and practice on identity development
