Course Objectives: | In this course, the intracellular signal transduction mechanisms, different types of receptors and functional properties of intracellular signaling pathways (G proteins, effector enzymes, ion channels, intracellular calcium, phospholipases and eicosanoids, protein kinases, protein phosphorylation, etc.), mechanisms that mediate the regulation of target cell responses, physiological functions of cell signaling (apoptosis, cell cycle regulation, gene transcription) and clinical significance (cancer, cardiovascular disease, learning and memory, immune respons) of signal transduction issues is intended to give an overview and understanding. |
