Course Objectives: | The aim of the course, in which mental processes will be discussed, is to provide students with theoretical knowledge on perception, attention mechanisms, memory, language, etc. Students will acquire the conceptual structure, related models and neuroscientific explanations of cognitive processes (such as cognition, perception, attention, memory, language, etc) and research results related to these processes. |
Course Content: | This course includes basic topics such as a brief history of cognitive psychology, research methods and paradigms in cognitive psychology, cognitive neuroscience, perception, attention, pattern recognition, the representation of knowledge, memory models, states of consciousness, short-term memory, long-term memory, mnemonics, mental imagery and language. |
