Course Objectives: | Students will acquire a relatively sophisticated understanding of research methods used by psychologists. |
Course Content: | This is a two-part course. Fall semester topics will include: overview of the scientific method; case history method; sampling and testing issues; correlational research; experimental research; quasi-experimental designs; archival research; longitudinal studies; twin studies; adoption studies; the structure of research reports and conference presentations; and ethical issues. |
