Course Objectives: | The course aims at giving the students an introduction to current topics in Functional Genomics research. The course also aims at presenting a variety of research techniques and their applications. |
Course Content: | Introduction to Functional Genomics and Basic Methods used in Functional Genomics Research, İsolation and Analysis of Total RNA and mRNA, Construction of Gene Libraries and their use Functional Genomics Research, Construction and Screening of Substractive Gene Libraries, Analysis of Changes in Gene Expression using Differential Display, Suppression Substractive Screenining Method, Serial Analysis of Gene Expression, Analysis of Gene Expression using Microarrays, Methods in Microarray Data Analysis, Protein Characterization Methods Used in Proteomics, Two Dimensional Gel Elecrophoresis, Protein Analysis using Mass Spektrometer, Bioinformatics : DNA and Protein Similarity Searches, Structural Modelling of Proteins |
