Course Objectives:

It is aimed to gain knowledge and skills regarding the care needs and rehabilitation of the stoma patient, and the contemporary roles and functions of the stoma nurse.

Course Content:

Wound and Care, Stoma-Ostomy Definition, Stoma History, Stoma Types, Stoma Care Nursing, Duties, Authorities and Responsibilities, Associations and Organizations Related to Stoma Care, Stoma Material Introduction, Gastrointestinal System Stomas and Care, Basic Anatomy-Physiology, Stoma Indications, Stoma Surgery, Stoma Sites, Preoperative Patient Preparation, Postoperative Early Care, Complications, Stoma Care Products, Material Preparation and Procedure Steps, Urinary System Stomas and Care, Urinary Diversion and Stoma Types, Indications, Surgical Practices, Upper Respiratory System Stomas and Care , Laryngectomy Stoma Indications.
