Dersin Amaç ve İçeriği

Course Objectives: To introduce and classify orthoses and to provide students with sufficient knowledge and experience to select the appropriate orthosis for the patient.
Course Content: Basic concepts of orthopedic rehabilitation, fracture healing, post-operative rehabilitation and conservative treatment in fracture healing, shoulder, elbow, hand and wrist orthopedic problems and rehabilitation, vertebral column orthopedic problems and scoliosis rehabilitation, hip, knee, foot and ankle orthopedic problems and rehabilitation.

Theoretical - Conceptual
1) Explains the scope and purpose of orthopedic rehabilitation.
2) List the physiotherapy evaluation and treatment methods used in the field of orthopedic rehabilitation.
2 - Skills
Cognitive - Practical
1) Explain the fracture and soft tissue healing process and the physiotherapy methods that can be used in this process.
2) Explains upper extremity orthopedic problems and their physiopathologies, and explains physiotherapy diagnosis, evaluation and treatment processes for the relevant problem.
3) Explains lower extremity orthopedic problems and their physiopathologies, and explains physiotherapy diagnosis, evaluation and treatment processes for the relevant problem.
4) Can select and apply evaluation methods appropriate to the orthopedic problem, plans and implements a treatment program appropriate to the evaluation results and develops it as needed.

1) Other health professionals working in the field of orthopedic rehabilitation and their competence limits; Explains how to ensure multidisciplinary work and information flow.
2) Knows the importance of patient communication in treatment; can inform the patient about the treatment and problem.

1) Can conduct current literature research in the field of orthopedic rehabilitation.

1) Explains the physiotherapy diagnosis, evaluation and treatment processes of patients in need of orthopedic rehabilitation.
2) Determines the physiotherapy and rehabilitation needs of patients in need of orthopedic rehabilitation.
Competence to Work Independently and Take Responsibility
1) Can take responsibility for the treatment related to physiotherapy of the patient who is referred / applied to physiotherapy in the field of orthopedic rehabilitation, determines the need for physiotherapy autonomously and applies it.

1) With the knowledge, knowledge and experience gained in the field of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, he/she can evaluate his patients and draw up a personalized treatment program within the framework of professional and ethical principles.
2) After successfully completing the Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation program, they can follow the current literature, evidence-based approaches and information as a physiotherapist and apply this information in the clinic.
3) With their knowledge and experience, they take part as an important part of the interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary team in the clinic and can organize the team adequately.
4) With their high research skills and equipment, they can take part in academic studies and projects, and can carry out these studies independently or in interaction with other professional groups.
5) They can use information technologies and devices required by the field of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, and exhibit an open and creative perspective on new technological developments.
