Course Objectives: Course Description:
This course provides an introduction to the field of traffic psychology, including the application of psychological principles to driver behavior and road safety. Students will learn about the psychological factors that contribute to traffic accidents, driver aggression, and road rage. The course will explore topics such as driver cognition, perception, decision-making, and behavior in relation to road safety.

Course Goals and Objectives:
By the end of this course, students will be able to:

Identify the psychological factors that influence driver behavior and road safety
Analyze the causes of traffic accidents, driver aggression, and road rage
Understand the role of cognitive and perceptual processes in driving behavior
Develop strategies for promoting safe driving behavior and reducing driver aggression
Recognize the impact of individual differences on driving behavior
Apply knowledge of traffic psychology to improve road safety policies and interventions
Course Content: Traffic psychology in Turkey and abroad, main approaches in traffic psychology, driver assesment and Vienna test system, driver behavior and personality, driver attitude and risk taking, perception and driving, interview techniques, stress and driver behavior, traffic campains
